The Opportunity

As Housing Now prepared for its public launch, the NPO needed more than a website—it needed a clear and cohesive digital presence capable of communicating its mission, building credibility, and inspiring community involvement from day one. With an ambitious vision to advocate for affordable housing in the Salem area, establishing trust and recognition would be essential to a successful launch.

Beyond creating a professional online presence, the project presented an opportunity to develop a unified brand identity and scalable digital foundation that could support future growth. The website needed to educate visitors, showcase the organization's mission and initiatives, provide accessible resources, and create clear pathways for community members, partners, and supporters to engage with the movement.

The long-term objective was to create a platform that could evolve alongside the organization while supporting its ongoing advocacy efforts. By combining thoughtful branding, strategic website design, and a strong digital foundation, Housing Now would be well positioned to grow community awareness, strengthen public engagement, and support meaningful action long after its initial launch.

Strategic Approach

Preparing Housing Now for its public launch required more than a website—it required a cohesive brand and digital presence that could clearly communicate the organization's mission from day one. Our approach focused on creating a professional visual identity, a streamlined launch website, and supporting communication assets that together established a strong foundation for future growth.

Working in collaboration with independent designer John Maggiora, we developed a comprehensive visual identity that reflects Housing Now's mission and values. The brand system included a custom logo suite, brand shapes and graphic patterns, color palette, and custom iconography, creating a cohesive and recognizable identity that could be applied consistently across the website, educational materials, and future communications.

Mellow strategically planned and developed a focused single-page Squarespace website that introduces the organization, communicates its key initiatives, and provides visitors with clear opportunities to learn more and get involved. The site was built with a responsive, mobile-friendly layout and a flexible foundation that can expand as Housing Now’s programs and resources grow.

educational infographics

To help communicate complex housing topics in a clear and accessible way, we designed two custom infographics that transformed important information into engaging visual resources. These materials became valuable educational assets that support community outreach beyond the website itself.
